Conventional Non-Destructive methods, e.g. Ultrasonic, Thickness Measurements, Magnetic Particles, Radiography, Eddy Currents are used frequently for the detection of macroscopic defects or for thickness testing. The data obtained might be by it self an indication of the degree of degradation. In complex weld joints (where the level of stresses are normally high) these methods must be highly accurate since these regions are prone to defects.

The detection of macroscopic defects almost always implies a corrective action, i.e. the elimination of the defects by mechanical means.

Occasionally if this elimination is of great difficulty then the defect can be accepted as long as its dimensions are not critical. Objective: Improve productivity at a soluble flours factory
目标：提高一可易溶性面粉工厂的生产率。
ISQ solution: A survey of training needs at the filling line of the plant was made, based on which the training package was designed. The training actions were realised and applied to two different lines: Ichida and Nestum.
ISQ的解决方案：对该厂的供料生产线进行了培训需要的调查，并基于此调查设计了培训科目。培训活动针对两条不同的供料生产线：Ichida 和 Nestum。
Impact of ISQ intervention: Productivity levels were increased, due to the improvement of the operators qualifications as well as their adaptability to other plant operations. This intervention led also to maintenance costs reduction.
